Vallourec and XGS Energy have announced a strategic supply chain partnership to support XGS’s 3 GW pipeline of commercial geothermal projects across the western United States
Securing the supply of tubulars, a key component of XGS’s water-independent systems, is a significant milestone as XGS begins construction this year on a 150 MW project in New Mexico with Meta. The project will deliver 150 MW to the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) grid to support Meta’s data center operations.
Under the partnership, Vallourec will leverage its engineering expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and proven experience in high-temperature tubular solutions to support the deployment of XGS’s solid-state, closed-loop geothermal system.
For Vallourec, the collaboration represents a strategic expansion of its New Energies portfolio and reinforces its ambition to become a leading supplier of tubular solutions for advanced geothermal applications. Vallourec’s industry-leading tubular solutions, such as THERMOCASE Vacuum Insulated Tubing (VIT), play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency of geothermal wells by reducing thermal losses, improving heat exchange performance, and ensuring long-term system reliability, essential for the commercial-scale deployment of next-generation geothermal systems.
