XGS Energy has appointed two new senior leaders to help deliver key geothermal infrastructure projects across the US.
Al Vickers, Chief Operating Officer, and Kurt Fricker, Chief Procurement Officer, bring decades of experience delivering large-scale energy infrastructure.
The new leaders join XGS as the company advances execution on one of the largest geothermal development platforms in the region, with more than 150,000 acres of site control across the western US, 300MW of offtaker commitments with Meta and CC Power, and execution and supply chain partnerships with Baker Hughes and Vallourec.

Vickers joins XGS following 30 years of energy industry experience, including leading world-scale drilling and completions at bp, building large scale clean energy projects, and developing complex HVDC interregional transmission projects at Grid United.

Kurt Fricker joins XGS after leading Hess Corporation’s Global Supply Chain Asset Operations and Strategic Commercial teams, where he transformed the supplier relationships, category management, asset operations, and contractor safety and performance teams that asset-intensive construction demands.
Fricker stated, “Great projects are built with great partners. My career has focused on turning ambitious energy plans into consistent, reliable, value-adding project execution – building strong supplier relationships and the procurement discipline that keeps complex, high-stakes execution on track. XGS has the technology and the demand. My job is to make sure we have the partners and processes to deliver at scale.”
