A new collaboration between Fulcrum Point Holdings and Rodatherm Energy Corporation is set to boost the development of next-generation geothermal energy projects in Utah.
The two companies will initially focus on developing a flagship geothermal project in the Brigham City region, with construction currently targeted to begin in the first quarter of 2027, starting with a 10MW generating capacity with the potential for a phased development of up to 200 MW capacity.
Activities would then broaden to support future development across Utah and the Mountain West, harnessing the region’s significant geothermal potential.
Fulcrum Point Holdings develops, finances, and operates energy generation assets, with a focus on power projects in the Mountain West. The agreement marks an expansion of its energy partnerships into geothermal development alongside its involvement in nuclear energy, advanced manufacturing, and workforce development.
Rodatherm is a geothermal developer, owner and operator whose proprietary Waterless Geothermal Systems technology is designed to support baseload and dispatchable electrical power generation, energy resiliency systems, as well as district heating and cooling systems.
Under the agreement, Fulcrum Point and Rodatherm will lead project development, strategic planning, financing, government and community engagement, and long-term operational planning. Hi Tech Solutions, of which Fulcrum Point is an affiliate, will support plant operations, maintenance and technical services, and help develop the skilled workforce necessary to support the projects. Rodatherm will lead the development of the geothermal resource including project design, permitting, technology deployment and geothermal operations planning. The companies will consult throughout the process with local leaders, stakeholders and community members for feedback.
