EXCEED Geo Energy has partnered with Peregrine Turbine Technologies for the deployment of EXCEED’s next-gen Infinity-Loop geothermal energy system.
The innovative platform combines advanced subsurface drilling, surface energy conversion and integrated carbon sequestration. At the heart of the technology is the use of supercritical CO₂ (sCO₂) as a working fluid, which significantly boosts heat extraction and power conservation – achieving up to 50% higher energy yields than conventional systems.
The closed-loop system circulates sCO₂ through precision-engineered wellbore to extract the heat from deep rock formations without releasing greenhouse gasses.
The partnership leverages EXCEED’s expertise in deep horizontal drilling and advanced digital operations. Power is then converted using Peregrine’s high-efficiency sCO₂ turbines, which are scalable from 10 to 50MW. Peregrine’s turbines are based on Brayton-cycle architecture and represent the next evolution of thermal power generation.
This collaboration reflects the shared vision between the companies: to redefine geothermal energy through carbon-negative and long-duration energy storage. The system is ideally suited to a wide range of applications, form data centres to remote off-the-grid communities.
