baseload power taiwanBaseload Power Taiwan  and CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC) have signed an MoU to accelerate geothermal development in the country through CPC’s local expertise and Baseload’s international geothermal experience.

The companies will explore opportunities to develop geothermal projects across Taiwan, beginning with the Tuchang project in Yilan County.

Under the agreement, the parties will collaborate on resource evaluation, technical collaboration, due diligence, feasibility studies, and commercial decisions.

Alexander Helling, CEO of Baseload Power, said, “Taiwan has some of the strongest geothermal potential in Asia and a clear ambition to expand renewable energy. Through this collaboration with CPC, we are bringing complementary expertise to help unlock that potential. We see this as an important step not only for the Tuchang project, but for the long-term growth of Taiwan’s geothermal sector.”

Taiwan possesses significant geothermal potential, having already identified geothermal energy as a key component in its energy transition. The collaboration aims to support further development of reliable, domestically-produced renewable energy while contributing to the country’s long-term security and decarbonisation goals.
