nevada landscapeThe Bureau of Land Management has approved the 30MW Crescent Valley production facility and associated transmission line.

The project includes the construction and operation of one power plant; a PV solar field; 17 additional geothermal fluid production and injection wells and well pads; improved access roads; an aggregate pit; geothermal fluid pipelines; an electrical gen-tie line; substation; switching station; and ancillary support facilities.

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, 1MW of geothermal energy produced by a power plant can power the electricity use per year of around 1,104 homes.

Geothermal projects support domestic energy production while contributing to the nation’s energy security. Consistent with the Executive Order 14154 ‘Unleashing American Energy’, the geothermal projects on public lands helps meet the energy needs of US citizens while positioning the nation as a global energy leader long into the future.
