The handover ceremony for Muara Laboh Stage-2 Geothermal Power Plant Project was held on 13 February 2025 at the Supreme Energy Muara Laboh's (SEML) new office in Jakarta.
Following the official signing of the EPC Contract on 24 December 2024, SEML cordially invited EPC Contractor to attend the EPC Contract Handover Ceremony. SEML is a joint venture between PT Supreme Energy, Sumitomo Corporation, and INPEX Corporation. It has recently secured a financing of US$92.6mn from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the project. Muara Laboh Unit 2 has a planned installed capacity of 80 MW and is scheduled to be operational by early 2027.
Following the handover ceremony, a public consultation event was held with the communities associated with the Muara Laboh Unit 2 project. According to the IKPT, the need for workers would likely be at its peak at the end of 2026, with the number expected to gradually decrease as the project approaches completion.
Recruitment and placement of workers would depend on their specific skills in certain competencies, with locals from South Solok Regency and West Sumantra being given priority.
